BIOGRAPHY
Comstock Characters has performed at National Parks, State parks in northern California, historical and Western festivals, statue dedications, non-profit fundraising events, dinner theater, commemorative events, interpretive programs, interpretive training, Chautauqua venues and in repertory with other Chautauqua performers.
Mr. Hale performed at the Yosemite National Park's Valley Theater in residence during the National Parks' Centennial. He's appeared annually for the Death Valley ‘49ers Encampment in cooperation with the National Park Service Death Valley National Park, as part of a series highlighting the 19th-Century Western pioneer movement. "Snowshoe" Thompson was presented with an award from the non-profit Friends of Snowshoe Thompson for performing, educating, and the preservation of the historical legacy of the famous 19th Century Norwegian mail carrier. He also presents Dr. James E. Church, Father of international Snow Survey Science to outdoor education school classes.
Mr. Hale is the published author of Creating the National Park Service- history converging at improbable crossroads: Death Valley, Borax and Stephen Mather", the story of the remarkable and leadership role Stephen T. Mather, 1st Director of the National Park Service played in creating the National Park System under President Woodrow Wilson during the Great War in 1916.
